Neal,

I've written to them as they do Pay N Play. If I can get some info may be worth a meet some time.

Hi there

The contact No for the True Grip site is 01303 864 229.

It's a long time since I have been there but I think, if my memory serves me right, the guy who owns it is called Kevin. A very nice chap indeed.
It's not a big course but should be enough there to keep a small group happy for most of the day.

The course is off the road that runs between the Thanet Way Dual carriage way and Canterbury. The Slip way is Marked for Hoath, near the Roman Galley Pub.

Hope this helps a bit.

Kind regards, gary (Broadstairs, 20 mins away)

Hi Ed

I know St Nicholas, it's a nice out of the way place. a friend of mine was doing a barn conversion for someone there a couple of years ago.

The True Grip site seems to be run on a part time basis but you can, or you could, book pay & play days there.

They also do off road instruction, and I know a few of the local clubs sometimes book for RTV days.

It's quite lively, and at it's best, when it's been raining....so winter time is good.

Last time I was there, the red mist set in and I nearly flipped over backwards...................much to the amusement of my friends. There are a couple of serious climbs to test your 4x4.

kind regards, gary

I've had an enjoyable day there (last year, in my old P38), but rumour has it that it's now closed ...

I think the local SJ boys use it. I have seen swarms of them heading that way before. :D

Why do SJ's drive round in swarms.  You hardly ever see one its own then you see a line of anything between 3 to 10!!

Have to say the biggest swarm Ive seen was being Xmob's unimog at langdale but he was cheating as its a works thing!

Think their afraid that a big land rover might squash them?  Better in numbers, more visable

I had the humiliating experience of seeing a 90 being recovered by a SJ once. It was awful. He drove up and jammed himself against a tree to allow him to use the winch. It took me weeks to recover.

I can see here a possible private hire of True Grit, if it's still open that is. I'll try and call them this week.
