Title: who needs a winch when....

Had some boys up the farm putting up a new shed for the past week or two. All finished now

Lorry came to pick up the yellow machine, but got stuck in the field. So I got home from work to find a desperate driver needing a tow. He had to steer the lorry so I jumped into the machine - what an awesome beast, I want one!!

It pulled it out with just a blip of the throttle

Not too sure of the breed, but it's a 'Telescopic Handler', isn't it?

Yes Manitou rings a bell.

And yes its a telescopic handler. They had a steel "cage" thet they used to lift themselves up in order to bolt the shed together. Very impressive. It only took 2 blokes to build that shed in a week.

Post by: strapping young lad on October 03, 2005, 22:48:04: born/raised on a hill farm in wales, and worked for an agri contractor during the summer months for 3 yrs helps (silage/harvesting etc)

plus i used to be a machinery spotter of sorts (i knew my stuff bout farm kit in those days)

god i miss the fresh air!

When you've got a couple of tonne bags on the forks you can balance the truck on it's front wheels - always causes some worried faces from people walking past :(biglaugh):
