I've set off the transfer to my bank account, but it's still there in "pending" mode. It says it can take 5 - 7 days!?
Should I hold off sending until it transfers then?

Shols be ok as long as its in your paypal ac, it takes time to move the money to your bank thats all. I never take my money out, just spend it on something else. Saves paying them 4%.

depends on how much money we're talking about.
Paypal is occasionally pants, if the account is dodgy or fraudulent then they will reserve the right to take the money back out of your account, then again, they reserve the right to do that regardless..

Well, the chap has 15 positive feedbacks and no negatives. I'm just new to ebay selling and don't know when I should worry and about what!
nobody say "all the time about everything" please

I have an Unconfirmed Paypal account.
It partly means that I have only given my card details and not my actual bank account number/Branch to Paypal.
Nobody has made any comments/objections to me.
You will see that some sellers have a sentence in the text stating 4 days clearance before sending the item.

It should be safe to send the goods. The whole point of Paypal is to make the transaction smooth and fast.
If you decide to hold off dispatching until the money is in your bank you should at least e-mail the buyer and let them know. Otherwise they will be complaining that they have paid and you have not sent the item.

I agree Gords You should be Ok! I have been using Paypal since 2002 when it was in America only and i have never had any problems with it! Touch Wood? :)

Sometimes if the buyer's credit card has expired and Paypal have the debit card details or bank details they then do a BACS transfer that can take 10 days.
They don't inform you though and everyone thinks it's been paid. On checking Paypal will show the transaction as not completed.

My address is not verified as I use my debit card rather than a credit card, and for some reason they can't verify an address with a bank (don't understand why!).
This has never caused me a problem, I pay for things and they turn up next day (often), long before the money comes out of my bank.
I haven't sold anything on ebay so can't say how paypal works from a sellers point of view.
