I have an excuse (sort of...)
We had a long term illnes in the family 7 a subsequent death.
We sold our house, so everything was packed up in the garage.
When we moved, we had no garage, or workshop
We have now, but the workshop has been stuffed full of bl**dy gardening paraphanalia & BBQ's
I Must retrieve it & commence building it
"Oh & the Dogs ate my homework Miss"  (remember that one?)

I thought you had finished when I saw AJT 1 appear at the bottom of your signature.

if anyone wants to help im creating a list of excusses for when SHMBO (dysleix version) bends my ear for not making any progress with project
and i Guarantee she will bring up a list of other projects that she feels i may have not completed (to her satisfaction)

I'd thought of moisture resistant MDF, assuming storage in a garage/workshop/shed upon completion of construction.
I'd been told that if the paint is chipped, untreated MDF would rapidly become damp
How about Marine-Grade Plywood?

THANKS
will start checking prices this weekend

Ive gone for the series II Toylander as it has cutting patterns along with the manual. Doesnt look too bad. Im not in any hurry as my little girl has only just turned 2. lol. I'm going down the MDF route, as long as it doesnt kill me with the dust, as it should give a better finish. Not that it will stay looking good for long. Shes bound to crash it into something as soon as its finished. I'm looking to start sometime after christmas. I'll be buying all the kit from them as I'm no engineer so wont be building things like suspension or steering. Ive also found that kit-car mag ran an article from March to Octover 2004 when they built a series II themselves. I'm looking to get the back issues. Hopefully there will be some tips in there. I'll pass them on if I find any.

i've started taking pictures and will be putting them on the web next week along with information about any problems i encounter, i will try and do a page of costs to see how much it really does cost to build and maybe a page of hints and tips :D
