One of my work mates just turned up in his new toy.

A unimog.

My Uncle had a 60's unimog (404?), it was a beast, he also drove one for a farmer for a while, that one was huge.

I see quite a few around here. Mainly farm vehicles. One went past the house only yesterday while I was waiting for the damn plumbers to turn up (never did   ). It had some sort of tank and pipe rig on the back.

Drove a really ratty one with the roof chopped off at a local off road/team building place. You know the sort of thing.... clay pidgeon shooting, tank driving, archery, car with the steering going the wrong way (did that blindfolded with the passenger giving directions!!), etc. I remember they had a huge drop towards the end of the Unimog course that dropped into deep muddy water.... oh, joy!!

This was way before I owned a 4x4, but destiny was then sealed

Doesn't that still only apply if it travels less than so many miles per week? & on (proven) agricultural/forestry/contracting  work?

I don't wish to 'pass water on to your commemorative conflagration', but I'd check it up before 'risking a dipping'
