Through a friend of a friend I've been offered a 'tidy' (their description not mine, as I haven't been to look at it yet) E-plate with a 2.8 turbo diesel engine with intercooler (even more vague as my mate didn't ask the source of the engine ).
What sort of fuel consumption would I be looking at with this type of engine - a rough idea is enough, as I only want to be able to decide whether to bother looking!
BTW - plenty of MoT, some tax, £650

Depends on engine but should be about 30 mpg.

Cheers.
That's depressing - I'll have to go and have a look now! :D
Can you fit an overdrive to that age gearbox? (LT77 would it be?)
-
Its a 5 speed no.
But if you dont have it let me know as depending on what engine then I might be instrested.

Will do.
Thanks for the info.

Yes you can, you can put the GKN overdrive on it.
Will cost you around 1000 quid though ;-)

won't be doing that then!
It's that empty space on the drive Tim - it just doesn't look right!
Thought it might be a viable replacement for the van.
