If I go tubeless can i still air down or do they pop off the rim, i wouldn't knock em down by more than a third but just wondered?

Should be ok as long as you don't go too low! As they do seal at the edges!

I've found that tubeless tyres grip the rims far better than tubed do and as a result stay on at lower pressures. I've run my BFG MTs down to 16psi on many occasions without a hitch. I've gone lower, but that was when I pranged a rim and it went a bit flat (about 5psi - very not recommended).

cheers

I run my BFG MTs at around 15psi quite often.   You need to have a 'good' tyre to do it though... something with stuff sidewalls won't put up with low pressures quite so well.
