Rigt lads on thsi converstion Disco 200 tdi into my 90 i have tried to fire her up for the first time and she turns but wont fire up?
Any suggestions to help

sounds like fuel.have you bled the system?
check also the stop solenoid.
-
were is stop solinoid?
-
There should be a single wire going to the Fuel pump. This is the stop solenoid. There shoud be 12v when the ignition is on, and nothing when it is off.
Look for a spade conector coming from the pump. If no wire, then that is the prob.
-
You mean fuel lift pump?
sorry this is the first engine i have done
-
i can see a spade connector on the oil feed bit on block which is next to the oil filter?
-
could you ring me on mobile :07707270979

Right i have had the lift pump off and manually pump the the Fuel from the fork which goes into the engine block and i can get fuel to the top of fuel filter bleed valve and i had pressure on the little handdle on the side of the lift pump you use to pump up fuel.
I checked the switch ( Now i found it ), and i left the ignition turned on and when i disconnected it and re connected it i heard ticking so i presume its working but it still wont turn over and no fuel comming out of the injectors when turned?
The only thing i can think of is i have got a Fuel pipe wrong?,
-
is your lift pump actually lifting when the engine is turned over.disconnect the line between pump and filter and crank the engine over and see what happens.
-
I have tried manually pumping and their is pressure on the manual arm but no fuel comming out of the end of the fuel line to to the fuel filter ?, i can hear it pumping down the fuel pipe but no show with fuel its as if it has not got enough pull on the fuel?

IT LIVES ..IT LIVES...SHE FIRED UP..YIPEEEEEEEEEEE
-
Hello mate. Good news then. Did bleeding the injectors do the trick. :D
-
No mate i took both furl pipes off the lift pump and placed one finger over one pipe which enabled me to draw the fuel from a closer proximty to lift pump and low and behold as i manual pumped the fuel flooded out of lift pump and then i re connected the fuel line to fuel filter and the fuel got carried to their and then i turned engine over and bled fuel filter off and she fired up!!
I couldnt get to bleed off the injectors quick enough and she stalled and the battery didnt have enough in her to turn the enigne again so i have left it to charge overnight..grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr wnated to get her going never mind tommorow morning sounded nice what little she turned over before she stalled...
