OK, I haven't actually looked at it in detail yet ...
I don't have any fitting instructions, so can anyone give me details on how to fit the bumper? The chap said something about "plates to stop the bumper turning" when winching.
I have the plates, by the looks of it, I just need to know where/how they go!!

Have a look in my photo's Gordon.
Its all there.
:D

Why did you take all the grille/lights/etc off? Do you need to?
-
You'll need to chop the grill slightly and possibly move bits around.
-
hi gords ive got the fitting instructions do you want me to e-mail you them 3 pages

fitting instructions
What are they??
-
there for a series 1 disco front scorpion racing winch bumper
-
sorry its front and rear but front is easy enough i also have some pics in my mods section

Thanks for the offer of instructions Colin, but ... it's on (http://members.mud-club.com/profiles/gords/gallery/ScorpionWinchBumper/0) :D
Apart from ...
I already had a DiscoParts steering guard on. I had to 80% remove it to get the bumper on and wiggle it about a lot to get it back on again. The only problem is, I can't fit the rear clamps on
If you look at this picture (http://members.mud-club.com/profiles/gords/gallery/ScorpionWinchBumper/0/c2c32ce3f9e30914df41132a602ad426.JPG/) you can see that the side panel of the steering guard is very close to the chassis rail. The problem is, one of these (http://members.mud-club.com/profiles/gords/gallery/ScorpionWinchBumper/0/5d5dcd0eb25cefb6df06bf1a1b12d9a0.JPG/) needs to fit between, as can be seen in Jake's picture (http://members.mud-club.com/profiles/Jake/gallery/jake26/1/605707-1122138764./cmVhciBicmFja2V0cyAoZm9yIHN0cmVuZ2h0KQ==).
So, I either need to modify the Scorpion brackets, or the DiscoParts side panel - both of which are a bit beyond my trusty hacksaw. Any suggestions or offers of help? [-o<

is it the steering guard thats too close to the chassis? maybe you could drill a hole where the plate needs to be then hacksaw down either side so you have a "U" shaped cutout to allow the bracket to be fitted

The bracket will slide into the gap (just, I think) but there's no room for the head of the bolt ... and no way to get it in there either
Now, you see, I was hoping to avoid the whole "hacksaw" thing 'cos it's just too blooming hard  Surely somebody must have an electric powered, hand held thick panel cutting thing ... surely :?
-
you mean an angle grinder  or a plasma cutter would be good but i dont have one of them
-
i had same problem and just drilled straight through 8mm galvanised steel plate treated hole with rust proof and a touch hammerite all is cool and i know it works cos all i did all day sunday on challenge was winch winch and more winching
-

Err, pardon? Do you have pictures?

Looks nice Gordon.
Now off to Scorpions to get a couple of swivel eyes
I'll have to look at my steering guard, maybe it needs some rearranging too?
-
Mines the same
I'm going to drill some holes in the steering guard and fit the brackets over the outside.
If you dont get what i mean, i'll show you Sunday.
:D

looks good mate :D

I get what you mean - I think! I'm not sure how well that would work for mine as there is a bit of a gap between the chassis and the steering guard side panel.
By the way, do you know the Scorpion chap very well? I need a couple of swivel eyes  :)
