Title: winch control socket
Post by: colintandy on October 25, 2005, 23:01:20
finaly got some time today and moved my winch control socket to the inside of the cab put down by door as i can put the control unit in door pocket with all the length of cable this then prevents any problems with branches ect and it being stretched across bonnet ..is less than ideal when winching. going to be fitting switches for controlling winch in cab and on the front grill  when i find some suitable push switches would like the ones they fit onto the hgv vehicles for powering the tail-lifts anyone now where i can get these from!

You don't need anything heavy as you are only sending the 12v to pull in the winch solenoids...

That's unless you are worried about breaking the switches.

I use very small push button switches in the cab on my internal winch controler:

i had allready thought about that and with the challenge final in november and the challenges i am going to give a go next year heavy duty is the way to go possible with water proof covers to keep dirt and wet out whilst wearing gloves makes feeling for switches better
