If anyone wants a decent brake flarer tool, then I can highly recommend a proper garage one like this:
http://members.mud-club.com/profiles/Paul/gallery/FT
Its off Paul and cost me £65 inc postage and I have to say it flares beautifly and with complete ease! Its as good as any Ive seen in a garage and well worth the investment! This thing will out live you!!!!
Im in no way connected to this finacially, just bought a dam good product from him and wanted to recomend it :D

we sell them at work, they are the muts nuts, it's the only type I ever use now :D good price too.

we sell them at work
Who do you work for Peter ?
-
Yes the same as mine. I did have a hand held one which was ok BUT if you don't heat up the Hard metal pipes first hand to make them a bit softer they brake....
But the one you have are brill. You wont break that one....
-
i've had one exactly like that with the blue tin container for over 10yrs and it's never failed me.i also have one exactly the same but in a plastic case

Mine is very similar but a different brand. Superb piece of kit especially after having struggled with one of those Sealy pieces of sh**e. The company that made mine also do complete brake pipe kits for Land Rovers if you don't feel confident enough to make your own up. See here: http://www.automec.co.uk/

Daft question time
What does it do?
Do i need one?
:?
-
Jake it's used for making up brake & fuel pipes, flares the end of the pipe etc.. very good bit of kit ! you don't need one when it looks like so many members have them !
-
Cheers Peter.

Hmm, looks like a useful addition to the toolkit for the Africa trip. I'll add it to the huge long list!
-
We've been using one at work for 12 years and has only gone through a couple of dies in that time. They do eventually wear out. But given the use and abuse it is put to, very impressive.
-
The cheaper ones are next to useless for the commercial market and I'd have thought we needed something a bit better than diy.
I've lost count of the number of pipes I've made up for people and it's nice and easy.
The one Paul's got may be cheap but believe me it's nt cheaply manufactured and is the same as the ones made for Sealey and Snap-On.
Cracking bit of kit.

Including tubing and various fittings as well, metric or imperial though?
You'll need a truck for a support vehicle the way it goes
