Went up the A10 to Kings Lynn on Saturday.
Within 2-3 miles of entering Norfolk, I saw 2 'Byroad' signs, standing big 'n proud!
Don't get that in Kent - it's more likely to be unmarked or the sign hidden
-
No doubt these were new .... as these signs seem to disappear quietly into the night! There is a lane in Derbyshire where the sign often goes for a walk!

Lots of byways in Northants are signposted, mostly with TRO notices at this time of year  , some even have a special sign, the flying motorcyle one, lots have a byway finger pointing sign too.

Yes but was the wording restricted covered over?

It has to be said that Norfolk CC aren't the greatest at signage. Drove an incorrectly signed byway last night (dark evenings + first night laning :D ). It is signed at one end as 'Public Bridleway'. Despite recognising the error, it has never been corrected.
Suffolk CC, on the other hand, are excellent. Regular maitenance, well signposted, helpful RoW department, etc. There are many councils who would do well to follow their lead.
