A friend of mine rang me yesturday afternoon...................whilst on a off road course in Bucks (just two of them) A Discovery has become stuck VERY stuck  , A tractor wouldn't pull it out of a hole
How can he get out???? BTW its still there now, his recovery points are only the standard ones with a towbar on the back
Any ideas??
I WILL post pictures as soon as I have them......

Maybe it fell down a mine shaft?
-
Sounds like the only sensible way, would be to dig as much mud etc out as you can, then tow it out. Knowing how it's stuck from the photo's might change my approach though :D
-
I have not seen it but have been told its up th the chassis  dig but its a swomp.................
Mine shaft didn't relise MK was a mining area
-
I would say you need to raise it ,b4 towing it ,get some wood, blocks anything underneath the wheels, raise the diffs out the mud,the tractor will then shift it...........
-
Swamp and Chassis, done that, it's the suction that's holding it.
So yeah definitely lift it as far as you can, if you can lift it high enough to get the front 2 wheels (assuming towing forward) on to waffles, it might even drive out, but if not should defintely tow out.
Anybody remember the 4 LR tow at whitworth, that couldn't shift the 110 :D

Use HI-Lift jacks and try and raise it, as already said, get logs, bricks anything under the wheels, then winch or tractor out.
Whereabouts in MK has he got stuck? Maybe we could get a crew down there tonight and try and shift him?

If hes' got any traction move forward an inch or so then back and repeat If not and either rubble logs etc to get the ground a bit firmer so he can start moving

The dreaded Whaddon Glue.....

If you can find a good anchor point then you can pull it out using a pulley fixed onto the stuck vehicle.
You run a wire rope from the towing vehicle to the stuck vehicle, pass the wire through the pulley and back to your anchor point. When you pull on the wire it doubles the pulling force.
When we de-bog machines, we always do this. I'm talking 20t machines and 13mm wire rope. It helps if you can break the suction and maybe stick some bits of wood or stone in front and under the wheels so you have the vehicle lift at it comes out.
