I want to paint my steel wheels ( can`t afford alloys at the Moment) I`m not too sure what paint product I should use. They are white at the moment (with some green moss stuff) Any suggestions :?:
See some of you at whaddon :(contented):

I'll second that.

cracks off round the nuts when you tighten them up though....

Powder coating???
Proper 'old-fashioned' enamel Coach-Paint??
-
Hamerite is not what it used to be and powder coating is a bit of a pain too. You'd be better off with a good primer then a decent top coat or two.

Did that a year ago with a set of disco steels, just starting to creep through with the rust now, not too bad considering that it takes
White primer and normal auto gloss on top sprayed out of the aerosol cans

Just got mine powder coated for £15 a wheel, they look really good now, no problems for me there, would recommend. :)

ive used hammerite loads of times on various sets of wheels
recommend it, and it is cheap and easy job to do, no need for primers etc

hammerite spray might be ok but i know the brush on stuff cracks off

Fit acorn wheel nuts and the wheelbrace / socket doesn't touch the wheel and take the paint off
