Title: Remains of 1985 RRC!
Post by: V8MoneyPit on November 10, 2005, 17:12:07
I'm looking at a RR to generate a V8 for my 110. However, the owner wants to sell it as a complete vehicle. There may be one or 2 other parts I would keep, but is the rest of it of any interest to anyone. If so, what is it worth?!

I would be paying close to £500 for the whole thing. It would be nice to get something back on the remains. Not looking for profit, maybe £200 including the V5.... would that be a reasonable figure?

Would need collecting from south Norfolk.

Or maybe I should keep it as the basis of a 100" hybrid or bobtail..... but the wife might just chop off something I would rather keep

RR have plumeted in price

You may find a buyer, you may not.  I'd have a go at eblag for a start.

If its a mint one, then maybe you'll get £200.

Personally, I'd just buy a V8 for £50 and be done with it, loads out there

Why not just run the RR as an off-roader.  It's right that early ones are worthless now, which is stupid when you consider they are easily as capable off road as a Disco (some say more so) and Discos are going up in price!  As you say it would make a cool bobtail and/or pick-up.  A bobtail-pickup would be nice and light too.

Would not agree,

Have been offered lots more for my rr classic which is still in build.

£3k offered as it stands and still needs much work doing

you would not get that off ebay but may fetch £1k at least

I'll go and have a look at it over the weekend and let you know what it's like Keith.

Certainly some differing views though!!

The main thing with this one is the V8 has had a top end overhaul with new cam, followers, chain, valves, etc so I'm hoping it'll be 'sweet as a nut'! And worth paying a little more for.

I'll see if I can get the price of the car down or I'll just make an offer on the engine.

Looks very nice, but I was only after an engine! Just bought a 3.5 Efi unit. Picking it up on Sunday.
