Does anyone know if there is a list of generic kit to take with me when I go Pay & Play/Greenlaning (other than the Frontera of course :D )??
I have thought of the following:
Waterproofs & Boots/Wellies
Cold Weather Gear
Gloves (Worker/rigger type)
Recovery Strap & Shackle
Water (for Rad)
First Aid Kit
Fire Extinguisher
Compressor (little tyre pump thingy)
Grub & Flask
Camera
Maps (for laning)
Mobile Phone
Usual spare wheel, jack & brace
Anything else anyone could advise??
Cheers

One of those pressurised water/weed killer sprays for washing your rad, alty & lights off before going home!! :(contented):

The most used thing I carry are baby wipes.
That's not for use on the kids either.

A new motor and a Landrover...sorry mate its funny but I own a landy and I do like frontys

A small spade might be useful. Last week I spent too long in the cold and wet scraping gravel away from my exhaust by hand. (I needed to go backwards to escape)

..and take another friend in a motor to drag you out!

We all say you shouldn't get stuck greenlaning, but it happens to the best of us and when it does you'll kick yoursfelf if you left a peice of kit at home. Mostly, take that sense of humour, a mate with another car, patience and plenty of time for things to go wrong. Turtle and I got stuck (both cars) recceing North Notts and we just got stuck in, used nearly every peice of kit we had and jacked.dug/handwinched the cars out. Took half the afternoon and had I been on my own, I'd have had kittens.
Drive sensibly, get out and walk if you are unsure and should you get stuck, admit defeat rather than make things worse by trying to soldier on. That way some basic kit will suffice, good recovery points, strops (see yellowstrap for good'uns) that shovel from the shed, I've got waffles but TBH you need to know in advance to use them, otherwise they are best deployed as a hi-lift base. I also carry a hi-lift jacking kit, can't afford a winch, and it came in very usefull when the rope on Turtle's motor snapped. I'd advise anyone with a proper hi-lift to get one, or learn how to tie prusic loops.

I'll look into the high lift jack. But as a backup, luckily been a climber I've got the Prusic Loops to a fine art :)

so whats a prusic loop when its at home? im assuming some strong knott that can easily be untied?
may also consider carrying some loppers or saw if your on infrequently used lanes.

I think that a bright green HIGH-VIZ jacket is essential, some pay/play sites insist on one being worn outside of motor, also good on dark nights on the back roads,+ zip tyes wd 40 gaffer tape ,
