Title: New suspension - Well pleased
Post by: Digsit on November 14, 2005, 09:57:56
Well, after consulting with many, more experienced, Discovery owners I made the decision to renew the springs and shocks on Charity at the weekend.

I've always been impressed with how far I can take her with the original set up ( i think the shocks might even have been 15 years old by the state of em   ) so I plumped for standard height with the new ones too.

I went for heavy duty front and rear springs along with monroe gas shocks from Paddocks for £170.00 incl vat and delivery. I had previously fitted RRC heavy duty rear springs thinking they would be the same. The Discovery heavy duty ones (ANR4491) are considerably thicker and.......

WHAT A DIFFERENCE :!:  :!:

She sits at least 1" higher, the ride is nice and firm and she even goes round corners without making my buttocks ache   Just need to see how things perform off road at Whaddon next weekend

Big thanks again go to Dr Neil and Stanton Boy who helped me do the job. It would have been a nightmare without their expertise :D (we had to cut a couple of the old shocks off in the end)
