I was travelling along the A25 - Guildford to Dorking - last week following the rest of the traffic. I joined the A25 just in front of 2 Police motorcycle riders. I followed them along the one and only fast stretch and into the next village and 30/40 MPH section towards Dorking.
Nice riding - leading bike on the outside of the bends, following bike just behind and inside. Brings back fond memories 8)
A few minutes later, another Police rider whizzes past and "slots" in ... well, that's the polite, family friendly description  "squeeze" and "f'ing" also come to mind :x
When I did my IAM training, there was some mention of not affecting the surrounding traffic - i.e. don't squeeze in and make the following car brake, change direction, etc. :?
About a minute later (oh yes, we're driving through a small village at the moment) the next Police rider "arrives" in much the same style. I know for sure that I'm doing 30 MPH ... so, is it OK to exceed the speed limit in order to overtake?
Out of the village the limit increases to 40 MPH and the road is nicely twisty. Again, the front two riders doing it very nicely ... now then, the second two ... have they stolen these bikes and Police clothing? Is it their first time ever on a bike? [Edited] - on one left corner, one of them nearly headbutts a tree and both of them practically bump along the white line on the right hand bends
I can only assume that they were out on a training run - I just hope it was on of their first runs! Also, they had Met Police jackets on, so maybe they weren't used to riding on country roads!

That will be a couple of instructors and students from the Met driving school at Hendon. When my (far too inexperienced) mate did the course, on his first fast run he bottled in mid bend, pulled up and fell off taking another student out with him...

So I have been told by a copper I know { well they ALL seem to know me } when you sign up for the force, you are told what gig your'e getting, and they wont give a bike job to someone who allready rides a bike you have to learn from scratch { CBT,Direct access and all that doesnt happen}. Thats why you see them off line on bends and cutting in..
ALLEGEDLEY [ better check that spelling I think ]

and they wont give a bike job to someone who allready rides a bike you have to learn from scratch
