fitted a light bar to my disco and some lights i found kicking about but i,m not sure i like the look maybe i need smaller lights?
-
Looks good to me :D
-
I like it too .. though a lot you see have smaller rectangular lights on ?
Wish I could fit one, but being white I think the dazzle would be too much !
-
i think they look better with rectangular lights
mike

i quite like the lights jake has fitted to his as they are small but bright but then i think i want big lights to stand out :? dont like the rectangular ones on a disco but they look ok on a defender
-
I'll be going shopping soon Neal.
2 pairs will be on their way to you then.
:D
-
smaller ones in my view would look better
if you had a roof rack or something up there plus those lights they would blend in a little better, but they do look a little large up there on their own.
:D
-
cheers jake
they look large from the angle of the pic but they dont actually stick up any higher than the raised part of the roof :?
-
i think they look rather kool :D

I'd go for rectangular too.

The provlem with the rectangular jobbies sold on the roof bars is that they are fog lights. They give too wide a pattern and simply illuminate the dash and bonnet....which makes em crap imho. I will post a piccy of mine i changed to 2 small round at the sides with 2 6inch ring round driving lights in the middle.....stick with them looks good to me.

When I did mine I put 4 Hella FF50's up there. Nice small lamps that kick out a surprising amount of light.
Since then I had another 3 tabs added so now I'm up to 7 FF50's. You can see me coming now . . .
-
yea i like those hightower :D means i have to weld on more tags now
-
Just take your motor down a few tight greenlanes to see if you think your lights are too big
-
I like the round one's leave them on. "cool"
-

they dont stick up above the roof line of the raised part at the back so they may be ok?

Well, just think about some of the lanes we did up around here... I would be a little concerned :-k

nice discovery
:D
-
I prefer rectangle ones.....
I have 2 driving lights and 2 fogs...
gives a good spread....

hmm, maybe but jakes disco was higher than mine with lights on as well and he didnt suffer with them

When i used to run 6" spots on the top they always used to get knocked backwards/skywards.
Great for iluminating trees but rubbish for the track ahead.
Could you attach the little lights to the bottom of the bar?
Have a look here (http://members.mud-club.com/profiles/Jake/gallery/Big%20Blue/0/307090-1109789727./TG9zdCBmcm9udCBzcG90cyBmb3IgUmFuZ2llIGJ1bGwgYmFyICsgQmVhY29ucw==) for my 1st design of lights.
I attached a bar on the roof rails.
Nice and strong but the lights took a beating!!
-
yea see my lights are a lot lower than that jake as the bar runs just round above the windscreen line
i must say your drive has a lot more sand and oil on now
-
Leave it!
Kate's been out there with the jet wash trying to clear it away, Whilst i've been at work!!
