hi all. got a little problem with my heater motor on the 200 tdi. :( i went through a rather deep bit of water today and managed to get my feet wet. yuo it went over the bonnet and straight through the heater and on to my feet. the motor stopped working instantly. i have checked the fuse and thats fine. is there anything else i can do? how easy is it to get all the trim out the way so i can get to it?
do you think it might just dry out and possibly start working again?
so many questions from a man with wet feet i know..... :lol:

As far as I know, if you need to get to the heater, you have to remove the entire dashboard :(
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news
but you can move all the slidey bits around when it's dried out, that might help dislodge anything that might be stopping it turning.
But, err... it might not either :(

There is a reostat inside the heater housing, might be the cause, got one on the bench at the mo for the motor :wink:
Also the long fan impellors my be sticking on the nearside of the box in its holding spindle. A good dry out and a few well placed taps may free up the caking that may be holding it
I'm looking at a heater motor change myself, but was trying to remove the motor without taking the whole unit out, I maganed to get anothe motor working, just got to re grease the moving parts and find somwhere nice and warm to do it
