Title: Insurance?
Post by: Andy. on November 28, 2005, 12:09:43
Hi everyone.

Yes that time of year again so I'm after some good suggestions from you all on which company to call.
Company I'm with now will not renew my policy, so I need some contact details, phone numbers etc.

Cheers all.

You could try "Barry Scott" on here ...

Personally, I use Adrian Flux who do 4x4 specific insurance.

I'm with Adrian Flux as well - they were best of the people I tried and in some cases the companies declined to quote!! Anybody would think that I drive heavily modded non-certified LPG V8 - oh hang on.......

As mentioned above, speak to Barry Scott at www.greenlightinsurance.com

He did me a good deal.

Personally I can't see past NFU - full business cover if required and also off road cover included
V8 110 LPG with my 19 year old son as named driver - less than £300 fully comp with protected no claims
Less than £200 just me and missus
I use their Hungerford office - 01488 684551

I'll second that on the NFU front (Hi Andy - how's you?)

I've been with the Boston Office for a few years now (01205 363051), and they've sorted out 3 claims for me without any troubles (1 windscreen and 2 not at fault - including the theft of the 90). They paid out more than I was expecting (but less than I'd hoped  ) on the 90. The loss adjusters seem to be well up on Land Rovers.

Got my house and pension with them as well - they're actually really quite good :D

You can go direct to them as well - check out www.nfumutual.co.uk for more information.

Cheers

Ben

Secure Direct have always done me well...  All mods declared and no issues.

Greenlight have just done us a good deal on Insurance for Joanne, so they are well worth a check.  10% discount for MC members too.

We've got one, & that is quite enough!

I have just gone through this in the last week with insuring my discovery.  In the end i went with NFU, cost me £220 for the year for me and the wife and includes:

Unlimited audio cover
Unlimited glass cover
£1000 cover for trailers (most policys only have third party cover this one covers trailers as well!)
Free temporary cover in EU countries regardless of the number or length of trips.

And it also definitively means the policy holder can drive other vehicles third party!

I would definately use them again!

I was with Esure last year as they gave the best quote for best cover. This year I've gone with Adrian Flux as they were £30 cheaper with similar cover.

BTW does anyone knows if Adrian Flux offer a mud-club member discount?
