Do any of the members around the West Yorkshire (& surrounding counties) know of the existance of any snow-falls?
Not neccesarily blocked roads, but open land with public access, as 'Small Child' is constantly grumbling ever since seeing Gloucestershire on the news earlier in the week.
Places like Snake Pass, Woodhead Pass, saddleworth always seem likely candidates. And of course the old favourite; Holme-Moss (http://community.webshots.com/photo/79656053/285844316ryuycW#)

snake was definately closed earlier this week
I think it was either Tuesday, or Wednesday.
I remember going over with my parents once & it being almost to the tops of the road-side marker poles

when i was in the scouts when i was a MUCH younger chap i actually slept on the snake just below doctors gate in a snow hole.
We got so far up in an old 2a rag top and then walked the rest - fantastic night but VERY cold - especially as we only had polywarm "hypothermia" sleeping bags!(so called because you would almost certainly suffer from hypothermia if you slept in one!!! )

affraid the snow has all gone this side of the pennines BTM, 3 days of rain has seen it off, you may find the odd patch hidden behind a dry stone wlal in the corner of a field atop the affore mentions areas but I wouldnt like to put any faith in it. There is always the last resort of Escape in Castleford the indoor "real snow" (yeah right its ice) ski slope, mabey they have a tobboganging or tubbing night for kids failing thta the dry slope near me has some snow tubes they let kiddies take on the snowflex begginers slope (solid padded mat similar to the fake grass you get in butchers). Sheffield Ski Center and Halifax dry ski slope probably have similar things too.

I know 'Xscape' as it's just metaphorically down the road (about 5miles)
Halifax Ski-Slope is known to me, as it's at the top of 'Shiben Wall' (as the cobbled lane is known)
There also used to be a 'Pay & Play' site there in the old quarry (now a landfill?) opposite the 'Starving Rascal' pub
