Title: Leicestershire Independant LR Dealer
Post by: Bush Tucker Man on December 03, 2005, 21:57:52
I've seen adverts for this dealer in the magazines & might consider nipping down to have a look, or combining it with another Leicester visit with SWMBO

http://www.countyanddefendercentre.co.uk
It doesn't give any real details, it only says; 4miles from M1/jct 20 (that's the A4304 (Coventry Road)

I've also spotted the adverts in the comics, and they occasionally put there vehicles on ebay (but NOT with a low starting price   ).

If you are thinking of visiting them it might be best to give them a call first, as I seem to remember seeing that they only do viewings by appointment.

But I may be confused

Hi Richard

Have you tried http://www.thedefendercentre.co.uk? They're a bit off the beaten track for you (north west of Birmingham), but Marc (the owner) is well worth talking to about 110's (and 90's).
I got my Defender from there, and the service was fantastic.

I realise the Leicester connection, but this one's pretty good too. They did have some "compromise" 110's a little while ago - ex AA Commercial Station Wagons (that'll be the double cab"ish" one then!).
They'll do resprays, re-configurations etc - to give you the vehicle that you want, not the one they want to sell you!

Good luck in the search!

Ben

Not got time for a detailed response, but a CSW with a 'Hard-Top' rear (ie; no side-windows) would be pretty damn near the mark.

Ben, as you guessed, that was so I could go down with SWMBO, drop her off at Leicester Royal Infirmary, or St Lukes at Market Harborough, & have a look before picking her up again

But would you tell her where you were going?
