Been to Sibbertoft today , camshaft pulley sheered, now the dilemma ,repair the old engine, transplant a new engine , or buy a new truck ,which means swapping all my goodies over..........Im tittsed orf........
-
I would Go the Transplant Option!
Then you can Re-Build your engine at your leisure! Re-bore Cyls Skimmed Head / lightened Flywheel Race/ Cam
What Fun?

I'm with tuftee on this one. Problem is the cost of a decent replacement.
-
is it the 200 or 300 that has died???
i say rebuild it as if its only the cam thats scrap u will need a new cam,8 pushrods, maybe 8 rockers,a head gasket ,timing belt & a bit of time to do the job,
did my mates one over a wknd,2 hours for the head off, strip front cover, remove the pulleys etc, remove broken cam ,its not really a hard job considering u will pay over 1k for a tdi
-
True enough - best bet is to rip off the head and see what the damage is!
-
& if you decide to fit another lump in place of the tdi,
ill give you £100 for the old one
-
Oh B$$$$ger!
I was going to say that!
-
For some weird reason, the word "vulture" keeps springing to mind :D:D
-
Ok Mikey £100 for the old one, just got the camshaft out ,YOU did mean the camshaft, are you sure its worth coming all the way down for a knackered camshaft..................................no only joking ,stripped the old gell down ,just push rods and camshaft so not too bad, you know how it is, you get a little pisssssd orf when these things happen , I can see an upgrade happening in the near future, its just the thought of swapping everything over........................cheers Jason
-
i was actually infering £100 for the Knackered TDi  ,
its not that bad a job eh?? 8)
