Title: Rangie Spotlight ideas
Post by: petergalileo on December 06, 2005, 16:36:06
I have a disco with a rangie bull bar.  The spots on it are pretty poor, ideally I would have 2 meter diameter stainless steel 10 million watt floodlights but feel these would be a little too large.  What sorts of spots do you rangie owners use ?

Thanks
Peter

You need to look at how much room you have, both height & depth.
I use the ProComp (http://www.explorerprocomp.co.uk/acatalog/LightsAccesories_LightsSwitches.html) 130 watt 6" round Stainless on the Disco and  even with the 100 watt bulbs they are good.

same as yours but I have put some piaa bulbs in that make them like HID's, oh and a few extra on the roof bulbs in those to be upgraded soon ;)

Pound for Pound you can't beat the Wipac 8" lights at about £40 from Paddocks.

Thing is would they fit ? I have my hella set mounted on the bull bar and they are well and truly wedged in and not adjustable due to lack of clearance.

So how much space are we talking and could you extend the bullbar mounting points towards the grill if the lights are catching on the two cross bars?

IIRC when I fitted the spots to our Rangie's bullbar I ended up bending the mounting points down a little so the light cleared the cross bars.

Yes I could bend the mounting points down, I could also mount the lights on the bumper as there are 2 holes there already.

I have the H109 H3's in they make 55w bulbs like 85w for the same power draw.
