Title: Speedliners
Post by: dave_2A_2.25Turbo on December 06, 2005, 23:17:30
Has anyone had any experience with spray-on or brush on speedliner-type coatings?

Do theycut down on noise significantly/at all?

This seems quite reasonable - £75 for a kit

Muddyweb used to sell Protectakote (note *used* to, so this isn't a plug)

It seems quite sturdy, survives quite well in the back of tigger, although it wasn't very comfortable sat on it for eight hours from york -> dorset mind, but it doesn't come off easily :)

I have a bit of experience with it, as Daz mentioned ;-)

It will help as a panel deadener but won't dramatically cut down on the sound transmitted through the panel.   It's a Xylene based paint with little rubber granules in it, so will help to cut down reflected sound too.

The kit (assuming that is the 4L kit) will be fine for a 90 / Series 3...    best by far to apply as 2 coats for the best finish.  As with anything, preparation is the key to a long lasting finish.

Anything else you need to know, just yell.
