all found this searching through the news
Former world champion boxer Chris Eubank was declared bankrupt in November 2005, owing £1.3m in unpaid tax to HM Revenue & Customs. The declaration could see the former sportsman stripped of his luxury car collection and his £1.6m seafront home.
then i rememeberd Turtle had taken a picture of chris on the way home form the London to Brighton back in October 2005

Yes they are, i wanted black plates for my old pimp mobile but it woulda failed the test.

mate of mine lived opposite him in Hove. He (Chris) was regarded as a p###k by the neighbours - had a habit of running his tractor unit at all times of the day/night (couldnt take it out cos he failed the HGV test)
-
Proper eccentric and a great boxer..just not good with money
-
Damned good boxer....................BUT,a bit of a plonker
-
Well I guess that explains why he was reading the newspaper in the garage, then neatly folded it and put it back....
I suppose he was also a bit miffed that the long haired yob with the RR didn't recognise him :-) <giggle>
or <shock> maybe he waiting for me to pay for his fuel!?!

AFAIK if you remove the 5th wheel coupling you can drive it on a car license
-
AFAIK that used to be the case but I'm sure it all changed a few years back when they introduced the class C and class C+E license. I've heard that HGV drivers that held the old class 2 license are upgraded to C+E if they renew their license as there is a problem regarding the upper driving weight limit not being covered by class C. Then again it may be one of those wonderful myths

Oh god I hope that's not true....if it is I know Maddy's next car won't be a Freelander ..... it'll be an Actross!! HELP!

Hmmm Actross.
My weapon of daily choice.
-
Don't worry bout it Thrasher even if you take the fifth wheel off it will still be plated too heavy for a car licence. There is a lot more to be done than just removing the fifth wheel so tell Maddy not to get an Actross just yet

I have silver on black but then mine is nearly as old as me  not terrible clear on this pic though, will have to take more me thinks!
-
Well...hopefully she'll make do with her Actross T-shirts ;-) Confuses the hell out of people ;-)
-
You could always pay for Maddy to have HGV training  but you'd have to sell Piglet and Kanga to make room on the drive for her new shiny baby
Having a truck will give you marital bliss, you behave or she'll threaten to drive over owl and if you get kicked out of bed you can always sleep in the truck (tip: keep a spare key)
-
She has her own job ;-) If she wants an HGV license - she can pay :-)

That reminds me - I was overtaken the other day by a "classic" Mini, which was quite striking as it was totally monochrome. Black and silver plates, totally neutral dark grey body, greyscale interior, etc. The only things that gave it away were the brake lights. It was like being in Dixon of Dock Green momentarily.

Anyhoo, what MPG do you get out of a tractor unit if you leave the trailer at home?

Well I wouldn't slate you for wanting a scania, have been wanting one myself for the last 5 or 6 years.......got the provisional license but never got round to doing the real thing but as Johnty can drive them it wouldn't be a problem  We actually looked at a scania fire truck, tax exempt n no MOT if you keep it as a working fire truck.......what more could a girl ask for

Not sure but our new Actross averages 9 fully loaded.

unfortunatly yes you can drive a big yank motorhome on a car licence and or a bus as long as it is for personel use not work or hire or reward. and i get 9.8 mpg out of my volvo globetrotter without the trailer on fully loaded its down to 7.5mpg thats at 44ton
