Hi All,
Does anyone know what sand I should be using to sandblast?
I've got a sandblasting attachment for my Kew power washer.
The paperwork says dried quartz sand at maximum size of 0.8mm.
Everywhere I've tried says they haven't got it. They've got Kiln dried something or other.
Ideas gratefully received......

I use aluminium oxide 180/220 for dry blasting, however I presume the Kew uses water as carrier for the blast media.

HI THERE :D
IVE GOT A SAND BLAST ATTACHMENT FOR MY KEW PRESSURE WASHER
IVE ALWAYS USED BAGS OF SILVER SAND FROM B&Q
IT WORKS WELL ON ALLOY BIKE ENGINES SO SHOULD WORK A TREAT ON LANDY BODY PANELS
MIGHT BE A BIT FINE ON STEEL THOUGH
BUT THEN WET BLASTING ON STEEL BAD IDEA :?

Thanks Moose and Madman,
I've got some silver sand and it's coking in the oven to dry it out :?
So that I can get it wet.
It's only an axle case I'm doing. Might as well do it as I'm about to renew everything after blowing the diff up.
Thanks again for the advice.

Why is it you never see things until after you've pressed send.
It's cooking. Not coking.
Please don't send the drugs squad round 8)
