Has anyone noticed any shortage of fuel in the south since the large BBQ at hemel? all the garages near me are slowly running out
another consequence of the fire is there was a large wine warehouse next door which supplies the south as well so wine could be in short supply as well :?
-
It has been a bit of a nightmare.... but ironically not directly related to the depot fire.
A couple of the depots in the South West have had problems getting fuel, there was a point last week when the fuel was being tankered down from Birmingham.
Panic buying in response to the fire didn't help at all and set the ball rolling, but things seem to be recovering a bit now
-
But werent they saying that it was only airplane fuel that was lost, not car fuel???
-
Petrol shortage.....

......Read Beasts thread again, we may have a wine shortage!!! Now we have a crisis!!!!!!

Instead of Wine?! :?

Apparently a tanker was late in docking at Plymouth, so some of the South West garages started running out.
I'm heading North for some of Xmas so I'm not too worried yet!

Got a call from my boss over the weekend to fill up with diesel as garages locally were running out. Had to drive around quite a few as they were all out of diesel, but unleaded wasn't affected.
Managed to 'squeeze' £75 into my van! Anyways, think its all ok now, haven't seen any 'no diesel' signs about today!
-
Not seen anything up around the midlands/Nottingham, all state normal, no closed pumps etc
-
Think it was from plymouth up to exeter, due to the tanker delay tp the distribution depot at plymouth
-
i read on the bbc news site recently that flights from/to australia had to divert to stanstead to refuel as heathrow has a ration on
a third of its supply comes, sorry came from buncefield
makes you think though doesnt it.
imagine if a refinery got blown up
stanlow for instance
doesnt bear thinking about

Can't say I've noticed any shortage/problems around Dorking/Guildford area :?
-
we have had notices posted in mcdonalds saying that due to a shortage in cooking oil they will not be able to do a full menu  .. god knows what that means. and our asdas went without unleaded 2 days last week. must have a knock on effect somewhere
-
and here i was thinking microwave was king of maccy d's!
how else do you explain a hot flimsy bap!
lack of cooking oil eh!
go down the cash and carry
im sure you can afford it
tut tut
bk's here we come! ;)
-
maccy d,s bun factory was at buncefield as well that supplies 50% of their burger buns i read somewhere
-
ahhh. all making sence now
-
yep golden west was very badly hit and they were saying that it would affect bun supply to macy ds im sure there is no cooking oil shortage
-
so..
LOW fuel - due to panick buying/tankers been slack
LOW WINE - due to warehouse full getting nailed
McD`s rat burgers in short supply
Planes diverted
big nasty looking cloud over most of the south
..bet security guard wishes he`d never sparked up on his break!
my conspiricy theory is that the taliban have used the high pressure oil lines to smuggle in a small army of mice, each one with a matchstick cunningly cellotaped to its tail. as they scamper round the plant, one rough surface and "BOOM!"
...who`d suspect a mouse?!
-
Cooking oil works fine as a 50/50 mix.....trust me I know.....
-
Mac d may have to do the big mac with thick sliced bread instead then
