Title: Number Plate Transfers
Post by: Bush Tucker Man on December 24, 2005, 17:45:14
How do I do it?

'S50 RAT' to the new vehicle, or ought I to simply let it go?

I know it involves both sets of paperwork & a visit to the local DVLA office in the centre of Leeds

Memory is failing me due to my age, I don't recall a Zebra'd 110 :?

Anyway.............

Have I actually said that I've bought another LR??

The picture that was up on the 'Which Do I Buy thread' was simply the only one I had of a 'Sold' sign.
For all you know, it might just be something of Blackpool-ian origin

Hi Richard

Definately keep it!

I've got to wait until June before I can try to get my number plate back (off the stolen 90), but I intend to get it back. Just need to get a suitable Disco to put it on.

So, you any closer to that 110 then?

See ya

Ben

It's nice to hear from you Ben :D , do you still get up to Wakefield on business?
I take it you did after asking about that garage the other week.

See my reply to 'Jim-Willy', re; other vehicles

I didn't - I've still got a series 3 on my drive which has been bought and paid for but not yet collected - can't get another one until that one's gone.
I've also discovered that the place I got my 90 from is now doing Discos and has had a couple of very very nice V8's in recently - right money, right age and more importantly decent history and sensible mileage. So, we'll see. Could have done with one today though - the Golf was all over the road when I drove over to DVLA in Nottingham to get my road tax (still not got a v5c for it after the cloning problmes - owned it since July!).

I'm up in Wakefield again in a couple of weeks to interview a new potential for the company - I'll pop across if you're in (if that's okay :D ) so I can see first hand what's actually better than the current S50RAT!

Cheers

Ben

Be nice to see you Ben, as you may not know (I've got internet access problems, or will have very soon)
So, I'll PM my phone numbers to you just in case I can't get back on-line for a while.

post it back to you 2/3 days............

I would advise you wait and bring the document away with you, I left them to be posted back and they "got lost in the post".
The disc's were replaced PDQ but it was a lot of agro replacing the MOT V5 and the insurance for both vehicles and it cost money which you can't claim back.

Went to Leeds this morning on the 08:55 train (far cheaper than paying to park; £3.60 return), plus the station is only a brisk 5minute walk away.

Straight down Boar Lane, Duncan Street & up Vicar Lane to the DVLA office on EastGate.
In & take a ticket (like a meat counter)
"Sorry, we don't do Cherished transfers here now, we send them to HQ. FIll in this form & pay-up"

So within 10minutes I was out & into the (new to me) branch of 'Forbidden Planet' (http://www.forbiddenplanet.com/) about 5doors away :D
Then onto Maplins (400yards off on Regent Street) for a new catalogue & some 30Amp cable to install a power supply to the rear for the split charge & 12S socket
Samosa's in the glorious Victorian Market hall (http://community.webshots.com/photo/135300411/138092991fAljfJ) for an early dinner & back in the house by 12:05
