Title: the old favourite what tyre size on a std RRC
Post by: PoPrivit on December 30, 2005, 10:17:16
Hi chaps,

I am just about to order some new boots for my rangie and i have noticed that a few are running 235/85/16 MT's does this require any mods to the arch? I am looking at a 1" lift later but the new boots are required for MOT so dont want any probs.

Thanks Rich :D

I have a 2" lift and they don't give me any problems.  I havn't checked out the bump stops yet though, too cold.

if you have no lift at present then your most likely going to need to trim arches, theres some useful info at http://www.rangerovers.net/rrupgrades/trimarches/index.html
Probably the cheaper option if suspension lift not possible at present.

Hi

You won't get away with 235/85 without either a body lift or a wheel arch trim.

I don't think you will get away with 255/75 but I am not sure on that one.

Lift the body... you know it makes sense :-)

Mine handles so much better with new bodu mount rubbers :-)

Cheers
