Well.... the good news is that the old girl passed her MOT once again =D> =D> The not so good news is that the tiny selector fork problem I thought I had which causes her to pop out of gear in low range under engine breaking, usually on a steep slope when you least need it, is in fact not so tiny and it looks like I need a new gearbox
Can anyone point me in the direction of a reasonable retailer of a recon LT77 box for a 90 (preferably down south rather than oop north for ease of fetching it) please :?:
Ta muchly

It just so happens I have a recon box which I got for my project when I thought the engine I had was a 200 TDi. The engine turned out to be a 300 TDi and the LT77 would not fit. The box is in Hereford and. Let me know if you are interested.

If the problem is in low range are you sure its not a transfer box problem?
-
No, but thanks for the suggestion, I had it checked out and have been advised that it's definitely a gearbox problem. It's just amplified when in low range under stress but if left unchecked will eventually spread to all circumstances of use. I can see where you are coming from, I'd be really naffed off if I replaced the box and it turned out to be the transfer box
Thanks to all for your responses. I've got a few leads to follow up on which is further along than I was yesterday. :D

I'd go with Ashcroft. He'll send you a box, and then you can send yours back so you don't have the vehicle sitting around with no box for days at a time.
