What size socket do I need to buy for the oil drainage plug? I seem to have all the wrong sizes
-
my Dicovery 1 I use a 30mm.
By the way, dont let it drain for too long ! something about the oil pump not being able to pull oil up to iteself again once empty.

Have now! Went for 'not like they used to be'. They never seem to have in them what I want to know these days.

Large adjustable fits mine just right! Fill the new oil filter aswell when you fit it...i cant get a socket to my drain plug the exhaust is in the way, great design!

Change it for a Difflock oil drain plug.
It makes life so easy and the oil (from the drain plug anyway) always ends up in the container and not on the drive.
Unless some idiot kicks the container over....

Is this still true on a 3.9i Disco, the thing about the oil pump? I know it was on my '88 3.5EFi Rangie. You have to change the whole thing really quick, not leave it for half an hour draining as the oil pump loses prime and you have to pack it in Vaseline.
