I have been told by Matt_h that when working on Discos it inperative to have hex sockets as they dont round bolts off as easily and he has proved it with his ones.
Does anyone know a good cheap source of them and roughly how much is a set? At this point I cringe waiting to see a huge 3 figure sum come up!

Try Eblag (http://search.ebay.co.uk/search/search.dll?cgiurl=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.co.uk%2Fws%2F&fkr=1&from=R8&satitle=hex+sockets&category0=)

Just get a set made for use with air tools.

Halfords sell them too
Thats where i got mine.
:D

Buy halfruads there cheap, if you break them take it back and they will swap it for a new one. :D
Save spending lots of hard earned cash

Nearly all my hex sockets come from tyre/exhaust center I used to work. You cant beet em { plain matt black ones } if they work on pnuematic, they will work on scaffold bar.
Next time you are having your tyres done ask em if they have any spares.

try machine mart website, thats where mine come from and they have had some severe abuse and still fine!

Halford, been using their tools for ages and the proffesional stuff is cheap and very tough. Its not that far from snap on...without needing a mortgage!
-
just been to halfords to buy some ratchet spanners and a breaker bar with a 27mm socket to keep in the boot incase I get a puncture as the tiny bar thats suplied with the disco is useless.
I shall look in Hlafords as if they swap them when you break them thats fab.
Also the web site site above is saved in my favourites. May look at other tools later. Need to find the finance now :-)
What do you all think about that ex army place based near Derby and Ilkeston and very close to Heanor? Are they worth the money or expensive? I had a look round their show room over xmas as I was that way on hols and I was very restrained. I only spent 40p!

My old Bus garage swore by Halfords. They are as good as Britool or snap on but less cost. I have used them for years too, never had one break.
Only thing I will say is
Why oh why hasn't any tool manufacturer combatted the "sprout legs and run away" syndrome that strikes these damned tools. Every time I go to my tool box to get a socket or a spanner its bloody walked off somewhere else, I try and find it but alas its quicker to go and buy another. Its costing me a fortune,
BEtween you, I and the 10000 people who may read this I think its a conspiracy by these toold companies to get us to buy more tools.

Maybe they install homing devices in them.
When your not looking, they creep out of the tool box and leg it down the street, Toy Story style.

halfords stuff is good, profeesional stuff at least, got a fair bit of their stuff, although i did sheer a half inch extension in half last week,
probably didmt help that i had a 30mm socket and a 3 foot breaker bar on it, lol!
