Dose anyone have an exploded diagram of a 200TDi starter assembly?
The solenoid gave up in the 110's starter. Because it's a disco 200TDi with a exhaust conversion from Steve parkers there's not a lot of room to work.
I have got the starter out of the bell housing, but the casting on the front of the starter (where the bolts to the bell housing) is a bit too wide to get past the exhaust and engine block.
I have taken the intake manifold off to get to the starter bolts but don't fancy dismantling the exhaust system unless i relay have to.
Is there a way of removing the casting from the front of the motor?

i had that prob with mine & in the end renmoved the studs out the turbo housing to get enough room,it was a runt o a job   & the new starter is playing up again & dont want to go through all that again lol

Got the starter off today after a lot of swearing, striped the solenoid , the lining inside the solenoid was corroded, cleaned it up and put it all back together, tested it off the vehicle and it worked fine for 3 or 4 times then gave up again :( .
Now if i put voltage across the motor it won't spin
The box at the front is fine, there is a bit of wear on the brushes but nothing beyond normal wear and tare and the armature looks ok, cant find any reason why it shouldn't work.
Put it all back together and still doesn't want to play.
Ordered a new one from Paddocks this afternoon. More expense :(
