Hiya Gang,
I need to look into a breakdown cover policy, I realised with my recent fuel leak that I dont have anything included on the Insurance policy which I used to have.
So what company do you suggest for a 4x4 Disco with the possibility of a caravan on tow behind ?
Previously Ive used the AA a number of years ago. But I dont know how now having the Disco would affect that?
Any info is greatful for the brainstorming !

I use the RAC, I am sure there are cheaper out there but I have never had a problem. Last time I called them was in the series 3, towing a caravan. I rang and told tem that my alternator had gone, please dont send a patrol (unless he has a spare of course). Within half hour a recovery truck arrived!
Cant say fairer than that!

Join the caravan club and get their Mayday cover through Green Flag
By far the best I've found, and they actually understand about towing etc. You also get 2 way recovery... so if you break down on the way.. they take you there and then take you home afterwards

AGREED........

Been a member of the RAC since 1989 (apparently it says so on my card)
They have always fixed my landrovers including the 24v lwt the hybrid and so many other forms of landrover, they have been trashed in the past but for my money i will stick with RAC.
That all said i think the RAC and AA pretty much are the same, as are a million other smaller companies, essentially for most people it comes down to price.

I am sort of leaning towards the RAC myself and in their FAQs they do cover caravans upto 25ft long.
Some of the others Ive researched whilst being cheaper cover the vehicle and not myself driving other motors. As i have more than one this style of membership is better suited to me.
Im going to look into the C/club mayday.

join the camping and caravan club and then you get a discount on rac cover and they rescue your caravan for nowt.
I used them 200 miles after I bought my disco. They were great as they took the disco to a garage I wanted it to go to and I got a lift home with a mate.
My other car broke down once and the wire on the alternator had come loose and wasnt charging my battery. they mended it and I was a bit cautious about it so they agreed to follow me home just incase it was something else.
RAC for me anyday. AA are rip offs in my book.
