Hi all again, i seem to be posting new questions daily at the mo.... :?
Just received the new Safari Snorkel for the Disco, itching to fit, and wondered if anybody in the Northampton area had the hole cutter required that i could borrow, or any suggestions where i can get an 89mm hole cutter.
cheers
Andy

I bought one for around £15.
I'm near Heathrow if you want to borrow it.
(but for the amount of fuel you could buy one  )
:D

why not just mark out the hole to be cut.
then drill lots of holes inside the line.
then cut between the holes like dot to dot!!

Andy,
I have one but it's only a 70mm. It was fine for when I did the Safari on my D2. Is the D1 that different?
You're welcome to borrow it if you want. Let me know.

I have been out today and could only find 70mm myself, instructions say 89mm (I have actually read them before the day i am fitting) but i will get the tape out and have a measure, if it looks OK i will give you a shout.
Cheers

I did the many holes and then saw job not too bad either i must say :)
-
Just measured it, its 70mm diameter so would be a tight fit, may have to go with chuggaman's suggestion?
-
i used a nibbler...1 drill hole then slowly cut it out...easier than jigsaw as the blade of the jigsaw can hit the inner wing!

I used a jigsaw - cut the ned of the balde off, cover the wing ni gaffer tape to stop chaffing scratches and job done in 5 mins :-)
In fact I've done it what 3 times now.. never thought about using the nibbler though!

I use one of these [see pic] its great for this sort of job cuts the hole in seconds after you drill a small hole that is.

Thanks for all the help and suggestions, like the look of the nibbler, may have to get one of them :D
Anyhow, borrowed cutter from George, so going to set about fitting it today

They look so much neater with a hole cutter.
As you can see.

just fitted mine yesterday,
mine had a template and the hole was almost oval,
just used my dremel with a cutting wheel on it,
the inside hole is the 89mm one,
also fitted the 2" lift kit yesterday,
roll on next sunday at langdale,,,,
just been looking around and maybe the outer round hole is for cars with ABS,

Fitted the Snorkel today :)
Thanks George for the loan of the cutter.
