Must admit, that was my first thoughts too.

The nanny governments allied to the "do-gooders" and environmentalists will soon be circling......................

6 people died in this years london marathon, if they ban dakar, we'll have to petition to get the marathon banned to!!

In all honesty, I'd have thought little chance of bening banned, I bet some of the countries it goes through desperately need the money it produces.

it may not be bad news for the rally as a few years ago there was o big off for the ford team in portugal that kill a few spectators and injured a lot more and rallying is still going on. Everyone one just has to remember the first rule: Motor sport can be dangours. Still it is sad when the one who dies is so young

It better not be banned anytime soon, 'cause I'm hoping to eventually get into a position to do the Dakar Rally!
