Title: Rover bush change

Not sure which forum to put this in so I'll try in here  :)

Does anyone know how easy it to change the tie bar bush on a 1995 Rover 216?  It's the big one with the mounting bar through the middle.

The MOT is due on Wednesday and it looks like I have a failure as the bush has seperated.

Is it just a case of removing the two mounting bolts and then knocking the bush out or does the tie bar have to be lowered/removed?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Do i assume your talking about the one in the rear arm?
If so you,ve got the basic idea! just make sure to fit the new one in straight and the correct way around otherwise you,ll throw out your rear wheel alignment.plenty of copper-ease on the new one as you persaude it in. :wink:

Thanks Chris,

Just got in from doing the bush change.  It was the one in the rear arm and after a bit of persuasion with a hammer and steel drift it came out :)

The new one went in ok and it all seemed to line up so I guess I must've done it right.

Only trouble now is that I noticed that the other side has got some cracking on it so that might still be an MOT failure :(
