Isn't it strange how we (and I do include myself in this) look at something like this in a sad light. I have to admit to a lump in my throat.

Now I don't want to get all 'GreenPeace' on you, but it could be seen as signifying the end of a weapon of mass destruction.  :?

FACT FILE
Blackpools Vulcan Bomber was piloted into the resort by Squadron Leader Callum 'Bomber' McDougall who served in the falklands.

The bomber was designed in response to a specification issued by the ministry of defence in 1947

the wingspan was 37 feet

37 metres maybe?

Just reading the bit about how much to get it airworthy again. Only £30k??? That's amazingly little. Maybe I should have sold my house and bought it

I saw this on 'LR Net' last week & meant to post it, but forgot

Thanks 'Woodie'

Admittedly it was in a proper state with all the sea-air corrosion, & various bits had been removed.
I'm given to understand that they wouldn't even allow anyone to walk under it due to the poor structural integrity???

Still got one just over the road from me at Southend Airport, it'll be doing power runs on the runway in May.
