BFG is probably the best.  They do massive mileages without wearing out.  They aren't cheap though (ie I can't afford them).

Sadly it's discontinued, but the best all-rounder was probably the 'Trac-Edge'

Bronco (http://www.bronco4x4.com/) do a remould version, but only as a 235/85 x 16 at the moment

The first 'linked' image I came across (http://www.nordkystens4x4.dk/shop/default.asp?ProductID=365)

i did about 30k on my set of BFG AT;s before i sold the car and they had tons of tread left

behaved very well in the wet and dry, and only the bad stuff stopped it offroad.

well worth the money

and they look cool with the white lettering!

Another vote for BFGoodrich All Terrains...

My 235/85/16's have been on two differenent Land Rovers (90 and a 110")

Have done over 55,000 miles and have still got plenty tread life left.

And I've only ever had 2 puntures.

BFG or Goodyear MT/R (Max traction, they're not muds!)

Got BFG's on the Paj, and MT/Rs on the Jeep..... Paj is on road 95% of the time, only does light laning etc.

The MT/Rs are a harsher tread, but still sweet in the wet etc (Wrangler is 2wd on road and a 4l) But do give you an edge over the BFGs offroad....

I agree with BTM, the Trac-Edge are great, they go most places (I've never got stuck because of them) and have great road handling.  Dad had them on his LWB, but I nicked them and now they are on my SWB.  They're great on both vehicles.

Camac Terra AT. do lots of sizes and i`ve just put a pair on the back of mine. previous tyres (woosung wallbangers!) slid all over, these stick like S.T.A.B!

chunky, and reasonably priced. tend to be a farmers favourite and milkman is keen on em, so cant be that bad :)

pattern is like the BFG AT`s but more spaced out (so more chunky/grippy)

i like em! 8)

Had Trac Edge on my old 90.
Still going strong and being regularly trialled with local club.

I was recommened BFG/AT's by a family friend with multiple landies.

Great on and off road and I agree the white lettering looks cool!

When the BFG A/T's wear down sufficiently on the 110, I'll probably be either searching for old stock 'Tac-Edge' that have been laying in a cool, dry, dark store-room, or buying a set of the Bronco 'Grip-Edge'
