Title: Bikes on Trains
Post by: landyman Ash on January 23, 2006, 14:05:01
Im after a little support here guys

Like many train companies, southwest have just banned bikes on their trains at peak times.  Many of my mates down there are now driving to work as they walk is too far from the station

For those of you who commute that dont support the ban is there any chance you could post your positive comments (please dont put negative, the guys are working hard on this for envirnomental issue and the facts that the train companies are charging £78 a month for you to park there now!!!  :x  :x  :x )

The website is www.bikesontraines.co.uk and if you can help them out by positively signing the guestbook I'd appreciate it.  I used to bike but now have to pay over £80 as month to park at my station and I'd rather buy more bits for my landy using that money

Cheers

At the moment I have no need to travel on the train, especially to take my bike on it at rush hour.  But maybe one day I will.  Banning bikes at peak times is rediculous, it's like banning buses from city centres.

There'd be a lot more room for bikes if they got rid of some seats  :P

and whats wrong with leaving your bike at the station? then you wont have to pay parking

you can leave it at the station if you wish but when you return it usually has something missing from it.  joe
