Yes... it's the drop arm... so any decent independant LR parts company, even your main dealer.

That would be your drop arm and ball joint, any landrover spares shop will have them for about sixty quid.

I changed my rod end(oohh err) recently to fit heavy duty ones. Buy a splitter form Halford or your nearest motor factors place. Cost under a tenner and makes removing it a doddle. You cant gat a hammer at it easily and rick damaging your steering bow...which is far more costly. The splitter will come in handy for all those other annoying jobs that you used to hit with a hammer!!!

Drop arm a pig to get off, i fitted a replacement steering box to the 90, couldn't get the drop arm off for anything, luckily brought new one with box, but had to try to remove to send old box to paddocks. Swivel pin not to bad, you will need a splitter to disconnect the steering rod thingy, then their is a cir-clip that has to be removed from the underside, and it all drops out, watch for the spring though, its more obvious when you get the new one and see all the bits, a right [!Expletive Deleted!] to put back though i found, took some serious swearing and lot of huffing and puffing

If you just want to get the ball joint out you first have to take the drag link off from the top. Then if you look underneath the ball joint you will see a big circlip, take this out and the joint and various cups and washers will drop out. Be careful though because it is spring loaded, and note the order that it goes together. Due to it being spring loaded it can sometimes be a pig to refit.
If the joint has a significant amount of wear in it, then the arm could be worn as well. It might be as well to just change the whole thing. I once changed just the ball joint only to find there was still too much wear and had to then change the arm.

right ok i managed to get the balljoint apart, the new one is the one on the right and the old on the left the problem is that the bit circled seems to be missing or stuck in the drop arm

it should come in the kit or it is a part that does not need changing

im not sure as it didn't come out of the drop arm when i took the rest of the balljoint. Without the circled bit fitted its to sloppy and with it fitted it makes the balljoint to big looks like im going to have replace the whole drop arm
