Title: Gutless Disco again

Viewed the site for the first time last week looking for ideas after suffering similar symptoms to "gutless Disco" ie ran out of steam going uphill, RPM fluctuating at 2000 by +- 200, very slow acceleration and hung up at 70mph. Feared the worst after finding the pipe between turbo and pump intact and intercooler hoses OK - turned out to be fuel tank breather pipe blocked, a quick blow through and off we go.

Where exactly is the breather pipe? I assume you took it off and cleared it, rather than blowing up it, into the tank? :shock:  :wink:

i think the breather comes out near the cap somewhere doesnt it ?

No I`am afraid I took the easy option of blowing it through in situ expecting/hoping that a small amount of crap going into the tank will either gather in the bottom of the tank or be picked up by the filter. The vent pipe is strapped to the back of the horizontal  bracket under the wheel arch then up to the filler pipe an across the top of the tank. Anyone Know if it`s one of the pipes going into the tank at the sender unit or are those the feed and pump excess return? Haynes manual suggests you have to manouvre the tank on removal to disconnect the vent line.
