Title: Ive got Two Alternators and a specialist Vehical plate
Post by: Berliner Beer on January 24, 2006, 16:38:13
Hi all. Got back from Whaddon after testing the snorkal and breathers to the limit....all went very well...even the doors didn't leak too much. Went back to old joes to do the dreaded wash. Cleaned the engine bay, body work and underside as best we could. went to start the engin and nothing!
RAC had a look ( he was a miserable B*****D and said "two things dont go off road and dont wash it" Cheers mate. After 2 hours of testing batteries and aternator he discovered a second alternator which appeared to be dead. Got home on a RAC aux battery. Took the bav mobile to ROGERS of Bedford who are looking at it at the mo. Hopefully a case of bad contamination of the alternator. My question is how can I find out what my land rover was used for....Old joe discovered a LAND rover specialist vehical plate in the engine bay. I have 2 batt and 2 altenators and evidence of a removed inverter any ideas? Will keep ya posted on the alternator problem!

I had a civvy 90 built by special vehicles for the MOD. It didn't have any external signs but the VIN plate said special vehicles and there was a similar plate on the driver's seat box with the contract number.

The only difference under the bonnet to a normal Tdi was that they seemed to have lost some of the power     no extra alternators.

Ask Porny for help.
He's great with these sorts of things.
