My clutch master cylinder started giving up so I have ordered a new master cylinder on-line. As usual this tempted fate and it gave up this morning so I had a piggy-back from Alcoholics Anonymous (AA).
As I have some running around to do I thought I'd get a repair kit to see if it would get me back on the road for the weekend as last time I ordered on-line it took nearly a week for the parts to arrive. Well phoning round local motor factors and Land Rover spares, both main stealers and indies, you'd have thought I was asking for parts to fit a Trabant   either can't get, never stock or have to order in for Tuesday
Sarcasm: I know there isn't that many Discoveries on the road and those that are are new, but you'd think parts like brakes and clutch hydraulics would be more readily available

I have had exactly the same thing! My local dealer didnt have any clutch master cylinders in stock, luckily my local motor factors had one, but it cost £36! Turned out not to be the master cylinder, it looks like the whole clutch needs replacing lmao

£45-£60 I've been quoted locally so that's why I ordered on-line. The cheaper quote wasn't in stock and the more expensive one were showing two. I think you have to pay extra for the dust they're gathering

Luckily most of the bits I need I can pick up from that place in Matlock, only 30 minutes away, and 99% of the time have what I want
Also its a nice drive to get there too, and I always seem to end up at Anchor surplas on the way back too, funny that :?

If its a rush job I use Landranger in sedgley. Normaly got most things I have needed but they are a tad expensive. Where time isnt an issue I orfer online.

Though I do hope to have the bits in time for the 18th or the Discos going to get christened, or Laguna will become a pot hole plug.
