Title: Range Rover Rostyle max tyre size.
Post by: Hangover on January 29, 2006, 16:24:29
Currently running my Defender on BFG muds which i saved off my old Range Rover, although i want to keep the rims and put the muds on another set of rims as i'm doing more road driving and the BFG's are a touch noisy, would like to fit 265/75/16 AT's to the Rostyles so just wondered if this is ok as the rims were only designed for 205/16 tyres.
Cheers,
Kev

http://www.rrr.co.uk/Classic/Technical.htm states that the Rostyle is a 6" width rim, and http://www.bfgoodrichtires.com/assets/pdf/all_terrain_ta_kd.pdf states that a 265 needs a 7" minimum, so no you wouldn't be able to mate the two.

Regards

Andy

7.50's fit (officially the limit is 7.00's :? )
So 235's will fit as they're not really a lot of differance between the 2 sizes

Firestone SAT's used to be a common site on Rostyles & they're a bit on the wide size for a 7.50

Yes, i run 235 on rostyle and they fit lovely, they were a bit pinched on the old 5.5 rims.

Having thought about it, the factory did fit 7.50 SAT's to the Range Rover (on Rostyles) in the early 70's for hill-rallys. (well, I don't think they did a 7.00 SAT???)

I'm pretty damn certain I've seen pictures in a magazine (probably) something like 'International Off Road & 4 Wheel-Drive' of 9.00's on Rostyles

It's very tasty & on BFG 'Trac-Edge'
