Title: Parabolic springs

Hi, i'm looking at fitting parabolic springs to my 88 inch series 3 but have seen a range of prices for them. They all look excactly the same to me so I wondered if anybody has fitted the cheaper ones (paddocks etc) and what are they like?

hi,

i not got the cheap ones fitted to mine but the £500 ones, Chris perfect ones,

these are superb, and iv had them on here for a year now and no sign of ageing yet.

i think with parabolics its very much the same with other things, you get what you pay for,

from what i have seen and heard the cheaper you buy the faster they become saggier and don't hold there spring any more.

i looked into  this a while back for my dads lightwieght and it does seem like the paddocks ones didnt get much of a rating from people who bought them and as tractor boy said you get what you pay for and through all the posts i read the chris perfect ones didnt get one bad word.  joe :D

Same, got CP springs on mine they do a great job offroad. should have gone for the ES3000 shocks though!

My sIII has got CP paras and comp es9000s and I have to say one of my best buys so far.   around £350 all up  :lol:

i agree there, the es1000 are abit soft,

looking at everyone here say they got there's for 350 and so forth,

what i do wrong to get them at £500, or is it as i had his new type when they first came out?

I got cheap ones from I think Paddocks, had them on over a year, the vehicle is often used everyday, has taken a good whacking off road and they are still in top condition, no sign of sagging. I got them at a show price, inc polybushes and procomp shocks (cant remember which es...).  The lot cost £225, best deal ever I'd say.

I got mine from paddocks, and i must say that i thought they were still as bumpy on the road as the standerd srings.
Having said that, i was running extended shackles From a 109, and i dont think that helped.

HI HAD A SET FROM PADDOCKS MADE BY BRITISH SPRINGS ONLY LASTED 6 MONTHS OFF ROADING THE BEST ONES ON MARKET ARE FROM CRISS PERFECT THERE NOT CHEAP BUT ARE THE BEST ON MARKET MAKE SURE THERE THE IMPORTED ONE HE SELLS BOTH TYPES YOU WANT THE BLUE ONES

I'd also rate the Rocky Mountain ones... complete with matching dampers.

I've got these on my Series 2 and haven't had any problems.

got a set of rocky mountains on my old series 3 they cost £200 & are top notch
did have a pair of cp springs on the front but the bush eyes cracked on them but they bid send new inner leafs to replace them but had to strip the springs & fit them myself
they were the blue ones
my moneys on rocky mountain everyday!

I used british springs ones on mine until breaking a rear at whaddon, i replaced them with 2 leaf cp springs not the blue ones made by tic, the new cp ones are made by british springs and are the dogs.  Neil thorne had rocky mountain on his series but the thing to remember with rocky mountain spring is that the bush eyes are bigger so if you ever have to change the bushs you have to go back to them.
