Title: Whats under a 200 Dashboard
Post by: dazzawhipple on January 30, 2006, 08:56:40
Hi

I am want to screw some self tappers in to the dashboard on a 200 TDI

The place that I want to screw into is directly above the radio (what the jeuses handle is mounted onto)

Is there any wires there??

Cheers

Darren

you will be fine there, most of the wiring is run through the middle of the space and then branches off to the radio/ whatever. The only things close are the heater ducts..so dont use 6 inch nails and you will be fine!

If you are nervous about it then you can take the fuse box cover off, three screws upwards in the 'glovebox' then take the cardboard out above the passenger footwell for the last two screws at the back. Between them you can see most of the underside of the dash.

The silly answer to your original question (in the subject) is 3 dog ends, my bloody credit card I needed to pay for petrol one day, about £7 in loose change, a non working air-con rad, a leaky heater hose and proberbly a load of odd socks because its the only damned place left for them to be, I have a draw full waiting to be paired up !

:D

A little light humour for a Monday night
