I need help with the taxman :roll:

not to go into to much detail but ..................

they have sent me a large bill ,which is there cock up

and now want too double tax me next tax year

which will hurt big time.................

Is there anyone on here who can

help please

:o  :o Similar thing is happening to me...I tried to sort the matter out with my local tax office but they just talk down to you and make you feel like a villain...it ended with them shouting at me saying it was all my fault...I've started looking at property abroad,had enough of this Country,I want out... :cry:  :cry:

Jim,

If they have messed up your tax return for this year, they will want instalments for next year based on this cock up also.

I.e. they will want 50% of the inflated figure now and 50% in July..... if you know that your tax bill will have been corrected by then you can use a form SA303 to reduce your instalments, or if you haven't sent in your tax return yet, tick box 18.6 on page 7 and fill in half of what your tax will be (next year) in 18.7.

If you want to PM with a better explanation of what has gone on then I can give you some proper advice  :wink:

hire an accountant to sort it out for you

got a nice rebate on friday ;)

Pop down and have a 'polite' word with your accountant, if I've got a client who is due a refund, I wouldn't wait until now to get it for them.....

..... it's been sat in the Inland Revenues bank until now, rather than yours, and it's been available since April (or July if it incorporates a second payment on account).

Ask for your return to be done sooner next year, get all the info into them mid April and expect it finished in May (then if it's not done in June, give me a call instead  :D )
